A Trip to Goa with my Besties
Goa.You might be thinking what I mean by my Qatar in Goa. A flight between these two would take 3-4 hrs and Qatar is almost twice the size of Goa. But it is not the place of Qatar that was in Goa but the people there. Not the population of Qatar but 11 of my friends with whom I used to play with at my residence there- Barwa city. We also had regular picnics too in Qatar’s serene beaches. Let me tell all about it in detail now.
Good old times in Qatar with my gang
Last winter, I had news about something fun. Now, you may ask what was the news. Well it was that we were going to India’s smallest yet beautiful state of Goa with my friends from Qatar. And there were not just one or two but 12 of us. That just explains how fun the trip was. But halt! We were not yet in Goa. I just wished that the days would move faster. At last, the day arrived. We had agreed to meet at a rendezvous point near one of India’s many toll gates.
The 5 of us- Me, Maverick(aka Madwick), Verina, Natalie and Leona clubbed into one vehicle and the fun we had was just like a teaser about the amazing time we would have later in our trip. We played truth or dare and atlas on the journey and not to forget the. bookish talks we had which were pretty amusing. We sure had a good laugh. Once we reached the hotel, our parents were tired but not us. We were twice as energetic as we were when we met each other after a gap of 1 year as I moved to Dubai and another one of my friend moved to Australia.
We played catch with a paper ball we made with our creativity and it was a good one. The next few days were the days we marvelled at the amazing beaches, churches and of course savour the taste of Goan cuisine which is pretty scrumptious. We built an underpass at the beach. Oh what fun it was!
Best time spent during this trip – bedtime
Goa is small but travelling in it took a long time. With mild traffic, one architectural structure I found incredible was this bridge whose name I cannot recollect. Talking about rivers, we also went on a cruise ship. The experience was okay as it was a bit boring for us playful kids who needed a little bit of space, but all in all it was alright. All of these are fun stuff to do with peers but the best part was that we were to sleep together. We joked and laughed all night until our parents had to end all the good times.
During this time the Percy Jackson series on Disney was released. After much effort to dowload the first two episodes we sat at the back of our car which normally sat three people but instead all five of us hopped into the last seat to enjoy the Percy Jackson episodes just emphasizing our awe for the book.We called ourselves the Famous Five and we also have our own Timmy who is unfortunately not a dog but a human.
Busy watching Percy Jackson series
But, all good times have to end. After days of joy and fun, we had to go our ways. This experience is not a forgettable one but something I will cherish forever and I am sure my friends would think so too. As we said our goodbyes, we were a bit sullen but we could always interact with each other with the help of the internet through WhatsApp and video calls. How I love technology when it helps us shorten our distances. I hope we could have more such trips in the future.
